Sensei Edward Cavazos is the Chief Instructor of the Romeoville Isshin-Ryu Karate Club. He is a 6th Degree Black Belt with over 27 years of experience in the martial arts. Sensei Cavazos original instructor was Sensei John Walsh, and he received his Black Belt promotion under the authority of the late Master Jesse Gallegos. Sensei Cavazos continues his Isshin-Ryu training under Senseis Dennis and Kay Bembenek, 8th Degree Black Belts.

Sensei Cavazos is a member of the Scientific Fighting Congress, under the instruction of W. Hock Hochheim. Sensei Cavazos holds the following ranks in all of the Congress' training divisions:

3rd Degree Black Belt - Unarmed Combatives
3rd Degree Black Belt - Hochheim Kempo Karate-Jujitsu
1st Degree Black Belt - Pacific Archipelago Combatives
Master Instructor - Knife / Counter-Knife Combatives
Master Instructor - SDMS Impact Weapon Combatives

Sensei Cavazos holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and currently teaches second grade. He is also pursuing his Master's Degree in Educational Adminstration.

Sensei Cavazos and his beautiful wife Nicole were married on March 6, 2005. They have a son, Austin, and a daughter, Madelyn.
